Running for Charity

The aim of the Eastbourne Half Marathon is to raise as much money for charity as possible. Whilst getting sponsorship is far from obligatory, it is encouraged and if every runner were to raise just £20, then we would raise over £30,000!

We are very pleased to be supporting Chestnut Tree House as our main beneficiary this year. Please read about our main charity below, however you are very welcome to use the event as a 'vehicle' for raising funds for another charity close to your heart. The Eastbourne Half Marathon also gives money away to other local causes, see our over the years page to find out more.

...more about our main charity

Chestnut Tree House is the only children's hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from all over the county. The hospice costs over £2 million per year to run. Families are not charged for their care and the hospice receives very little government funding so it relies almost entirely on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex.
